“The 2017 NAIG was a unique event, having just one year to coordinate the Games. The Host Society successfully hosted thousands of Indigenous youth from across Turtle Island, combining the power of sport and culture,” said Marc Laliberte, president, Aboriginal Sport and Wellness Council of Ontario. “With increased time and resources, we are hopeful that an Ontario community will be chosen to take the NAIG Movement to historic heights in 2020.”

The 2020 North American Indigenous Games (2020 NAIG) will commemorate 30 years since the first NAIG and will mark the 10th edition of the Games. The 2020 NAIG will be one of the largest gatherings of Indigenous people from across Turtle Island (North America). More than 5,000 participants will compete in 14 core sports and celebrate the diversity of Indigenous cultures.
